We need someone who is qualified to deal with multicultural marriages and early on trauma dynamics.

Our situation:
My husband and I have been married 24 years. We are parents of one 12 year old girl.
We have never really communicated productively and we met and married under duress. From the very start it was clear that there were some red flags, but we dissasociated and distracted to make it work. Love was enough we thought, however, we have both come to a reality that we are both only learning how to be in relationship with someone, including ourselves.
We both have tended to use substances to cope over the years and we have since understood how this stunted our growth and our functionality in terms of marriage.
We have done a lot of coaching on ourselves but we have never found the time nor deep understanding that our marriage was stuck in a perpetual loop of revictimization of our childhood wounds. This loop has been nearly impossible to get out of, but now we have found a common understanding and are wondering if we can even heal from all the mismanagement of our marriage.
We have been on the verge of separation for 2 years now. We are now feeling very unsafe in our bodies with each other. We want to see if mediation and therapy to create a healthy safe relationship is possible before we part ways. There is still a bit of hope but it is also caused deep damage to us both. We both are finally done fighting and we are both willing to take responsibility. I hope this helps.
